In this two-part workshop we will explore some of the many aspects of Salsa dance.
Accompanied by classic 70’s salsa music from 𝓥𝓮𝓷𝓮𝔃𝓾𝓮𝓵𝓪, 𝓒𝓸𝓵𝓸𝓶𝓫𝓲𝓪 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓒𝓪𝓻𝓲𝓫𝓫𝓮𝓪𝓷.
We will learn some of the basic moves with and without partners and also practice what it is to lead and follow. Through the use of techniques from contact improvisation as well as meditative listening, we will sense into our own bodies and the connection with others to help allow improvisation to happen.
Our hope is that we practice feeling the music and feeling the dance 🙂
Previous experience is not necessary!
The workshops will build on each other but it is also perfectly okay to attend only the first or only the second.

Gaby Diaz Bio:
It seems I have lived many lives in many places. I was born in Venezuela, grew up in the United States and have been living in The Netherlands for the past 6 years. I came to Amsterdam to study economics and worked as a researcher for a few years before I decided I wanted to live a less desk-confined life. So, I completed a 200H Hatha Yoga Teacher training as well as a 40H Yin Yoga training, I participated in several meditation retreats and began attending theater and contact improvisation dance workshops. I love to meet people in these sorts of classes, where we get to know each other not through speaking but through body language, through silence, through exploration of movement. I am excited to be teaching dance and yoga at LOLA.
