Especially for this Amsterdam World Pride we offer shibari classes on Monday afternoons! Suitable as an introduction and to meet other likeminded aficionados. Come join us!
Shibari is a practice from Japan that produces connection, trust, and new perspectives of our bodies, emotions, and what is for each of us to feel safe. It can be erotic, acrobatic, or artistic, all of these with the use of ropes, in a well-cared environment with the more than 20 years of experience RopeLounge brings to the space. The main focus of these classes is to teach how to practice shibari in a safe way, while having fun and meeting likeminded people.
During World Pride we see the opportunity to target visitors who in their home countries might not have the chance to explore shibari. Specifically groups that currently don’t have as many opportunities to get acquainted with Japanese Rope Bondage–such as bipoc, FLINTA or older queers.
Each event will consist of a 2-hour introduction class during which participants get the opportunity to tie and get tied. After that there will be 1 hour of free tying and/or socialising possible. The approach will be more playful rather than technical. We definitely want participants to have a good time while discovering something new.
Participants may come by themselves and will be partnered with others coming alone. Ropes will be provided.
