Here comes the second edition of the Queer Shibari Festival of Amsterdam.
It is time to reunite again, rope nerds!
There is a lot of noise in the background of our lives:
the noise of egos,
the noise of collapsing systems.
With this festival, we invite you into a space of silence
a space for breathing, processing, and digesting
the dynamics of rope and bondage.
As a space, we also wish to listen to
the unspoken,
the unseen,
the unattended.
There will be workshops and performances during the festival. The workshop givers and performers will be announced soon through our social media accounts.
The Amsterdam Mini Shibari festival is our attempt as a common room of a neighbourhood to increase the visibility of queer/kinky programming in the Nieuw-West. We keep a certain number of community tickets for the neighbourhood queers so that they can come at discounted prices. Organising this event costs a lot, due to the fees of all facilitators, teachers and performers and the cost of building the space suitable for this festival. Hence we are aware of the expensive “Amsterdam” ticket prices. If you can not afford it and want to be in the space, write to us, and we will find possibilities, please write on time, and state a very short motivation about yourself to: aysenur[@]lolalieven.nl

Policy;
We facilitate cross-cultural and transpersonal spaces. Come with a recognition that everybody has different bodies, backgrounds, religious/nonreligious rituals, belief systems, and understanding. Consent is relational, happens in here and now. Always ask, and not assume.
As a neighbourhood venue, we stand for our streets and neighbors. We are very aware of the gentrification in the area we are located in, and we address that in the multiple events and organizations we facilitate. We also give the space to the community to organise their events for free, for their visibility.
During the festival, there will be space holding people to reach if any discomfort happens. Please don’t wait and get us in time so we can handle it while you are still there, we can handle it as discreetly as possible according to your wishes.
Things to keep in mind
Ropes will be provided during the festival; however, if you have your ropes, bring them. Two to three 8-metre ropes will be enough for the workshops. If you like to tie in the free tying, you can use our ropes as well as your ropes.
Coming without a partner is fine. You will be matched with someone else coming alone in the workshops and participants are encouraged to switch i.e. to tie and get tied.
Refund:
Tickets will only be reimbursed if cancelled no later than one week before the start of the festival. After that, tickets may be resold at the same or lower price than bought for.
If you would like to receive updates about the Shibari classes, events and meet-ups we organize outside the Shibari festival, you can email to aysenur.
