Baque Flamingo is a collective founded in 2019 and we play Maracatu de Baque Virado, a brazilian cultural tradition.
We play and sing to bring about change, connection and empowerment in ourselves and around us.
It is important to us to learn from Maracatu groups (‘Nations’) in Brazil and support their continued manifestation and resistance.
Our group is part of an international network of Maracatu Nations and percussion groups like us.
